Environmental Profile
SEAC strives to contribute to protecting the environment and employing environmentally friendly working practices.
As a manufacturer of products for the building trade, we recognize that our operations have an environmental footprint. And in compliance with UK regulation, we are committed to minimizing the environmental impact of our processes. This commitment is put into practice across our facilities through the reduction of waste and emissions, identifying opportunities to reuse, reclaim and recycle materials, and ensuring the use of sustainably sourced materials wherever possible.
Current Initiatives:
- We recycle all our wood waste through an approved 3rd party waste wood recycling company. Most of the waste wood is recycled to produce pallets, and where unusable, the remainder is chipped for use downstream.
- As our production has a high plastics use profile, we ensure the regrinding of our most used plastic for reuse. These plastics can be reground up to 5 times before disposal.
- We have invested in, installed and integrated manufacturing machinery with improved energy efficiency. This ensures that more of the products our customers love have a lower environmental footprint. And it sets the template for further embedding of sustainability at the core of our future capital investments.
- Motion sensor lights are fitted across our facilities to ensure energy and cost efficiency.
- Finally, we are actively working on putting in place a system for recycling all our cardboard waste.
As a responsible manufacturer, we are committed to protecting and minimizing the impact of our operations on the environment by ensuring greater sustainability, as part of our wider contribution to the closed loop economy.
